⁠Can foreigners buy property in Johor Bahru?

Yes, foreigners can invest in Malaysian properties — but the minimum purchase price depends on the state.
In Johor, the general rule is RM1 million and above, but there are certain approved projects and zones where the threshold can be lower — sometimes even below RM500,000, depending on your profile and the developer’s quota.

Freehold means you own the land indefinitely, while leasehold usually lasts 99 years or less. In JB, many high-demand areas near CIQ and Iskandar Puteri are leasehold — but that doesn’t mean bad investment. I’ll show you which ones still perform well.
